Welcome to the Patrick Henry Democratic Club! We are a family-friendly club designed for progressive Democrats who are working diligently to change the face of politics! Feel free to browse around our pages to see how we are working to make out future better, then come to our next monthly meeting to see how you can help!
The Senate Democrats and Republicans sold out America and freedom today in the cloture vote on USA-PATRIOT, which has been made even worse than it was in 2002. Only Russ Feingold, Robert Byrd and Jim Jeffords cared enough about America to oppose this terrorist attack on the American people and on the Constitution of the United States. Call the three champions of democracy to thank them. Call the other Senators to tell them how ashamed you are. Suggest that those running for re-election consider stepping aside so a real patriot opposed to the Bush tyranny can take their place.
“This bill undermines efforts towards a peaceful resolution of Iran’s nuclear ambitions, and puts the United States on a dangerous path that could lead to war
." -- Dennis Kucinich.
Thank you Dennis Kucinich, Jim McDermott, Ron Paul and Pete Stark for being the only votes against the rush to war with Iran. To those who don't know, the House voted overwhelmingly for a resolution "condemning the Government of Iran for violating its international nuclear nonproliferation obligations and expressing support for efforts to report Iran to the United Nations Security Council." While some others voted "present" and some did not vote, these four had the courage to stand up and be counted against this
resolution fast-tracking the next war. We are very proud of Dennis Kucinich, our Congressman of the Year. The vote is at:
Everyone here is encouraged to donate to these four individuals who stood up as lone voices for peace. Their web sites are

Natasha, Alex and members of the National Youth Rights Association - Orange County and NYRA - Berkeley on the unanimous adoption on July 31, 2005, by the California Democratic Party Executive Board of Resolution LA05.14 to LOWER THE VOTING AGE. Good work, youth and E-board! Now is the time for all Democratic legislators to follow the wishes of their constituents.
The Club also celebrates the passage of resolutions SAC05.36 calling for an Iraqi and Afghani Childrens War Memorial, LA05.49 calling for a ban on military use of Depleted Uranium, and SAC05.39 calling for the extradition of Posada to Venezuela (see also

On 12/13/2005, the son of a Nazi executed an innocent black peacemaker named Stanley "Tookie" Williams. Williams had saved well over 100,000 lives and had been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize five times. The Nazi's son who killed the Nobel Peace Prize nominee knew of his innocence as a witness had come forward the weekend before Tookie was killed with absolute proof of his innocence. The Nazi's son used Tookie's refusal to lie about his innocence as a justification for premeditatedly killing Tookie in cold blood. It is time to end the right of government officials to kill American citizens.
To honor the memory of Tookie, all Californians need to work to have subsection 1 of Section 196 of the California Penal Code repealed. This section reads as follows:
"196. Homicide is justifiable when committed by public officers and those acting by their command in their aid and assistance, either--
1. In obedience to any judgment of a competent Court; or,"
Also, in memory of Tookie, all Californians need to work to kick the son of a Nazi who killed him out of office.
Here is a poem that was written a week before Tookie's cruel and untimely death:
Time To Save a Life that’s Saving Lives
by Natasha H. (age 14)
How many lives have you saved today?
Will one end if you have your say?
Or will you cower, wait and see,
While in your name, they kill Tookie?
Thanks, Tookie for all those you save;
Sad, killers want you in your grave.
Who are these people with blood-lust,
Calling executions a must?
How low can my countrymen fall,
To kill their own, then sleep at all?
Slaughtering caged, defenseless pawns
Only violence and hatred spawns .
The Bible tells them NOT to kill
Through others, lots of blood they spill;
They silence those who stand for right
While letting leaders kill by might.
They nailed you just because you’re black
Though evidence of guilt, they lack;
Poor minorities cannot hide;
Executions are genocide.
Nobel Prize Nominee, you are;
You've saved so many lives so far;
Good people stand and root for you;
Be assured God’s on your side, too.

Cowards in Congress
Would you make a good U.S. Senator from California or do you know someone who would? The Patrick Henry Democratic Club is currently looking for the best person to back in 2006 for California's U.S. Senate Seat. We want a Senator who will stand up for the Bill of Rights, human rights and civil rights. We need a candidate who says "No" to imperialist oil wars and who will demand an end to givaways to Halliburton, Bechtel, Blackwater USA and Raytheon that are keeping the Ameican troops in a war that never should have started. We are looking for someone who will call for the U.S.'s withdrawal from the WTO and an end to NAFTA, CAFTA, FTAA and so on. We want someone who will say "No" to the upper-class rip-offs of the middle class and of the poor. If you are the candidate we want or want to recommend someone for U.S. Senate, submit your/his/her name, information on why you or that person would make a great Senator and contact information for follow-up.

One-in-959,000 chance exit polls wrong in predicting '04 election outcome --Analysis by group points to election 'corruption' [coup d'etat].
Excerpt (article is no longer available):
--Analysis by group points to election 'corruption' [coup d'etat] --There's a one-in-959,000 chance that exit polls could have been so wrong in predicting the outcome of the 2004 presidential election, according to a statistical analysis released Thursday. Exit polls in the November election showed Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., winning by 3 percent, but Dictator George W. Bush won the vote count by 2.5 percent. The explanation for the discrepancy that was offered by the exit polling firm -- that Kerry voters were more likely to participate in the exit polling -- is an "implausible theory,'' according to the report issued Thursday by US Count Votes, a group that claims it's made up of about two dozen statisticians.

|A long time ago in a country far, far away, a rising dictator managed to use a national tragedy as an excuse (1) to round up thousands of suspected terrorists, imprisoning or deporting them, (2) to push through anti-terrorism legislation, (3) to solidify his power and gain popularity, making dissent unpatriotic, (4) to round up and imprison citizens without the right of trial, (5) later, to use his new-found powers to go to war and invade helpless countries for false reasons and take their resources and (6) to kill a great many of his countries soldiers in these wars and a great many innocent civilians, both in his country and around the world....
In church, I have learned that forgiveness is not for the benefit of the forgiven but rather for the benefit of the forgiver. However, most children in America do not attend my church. I suspect that, when they learn what the current adult generation is not telling them, most will have a lot of difficulty forgiving any parents who support or vote for the Bush administration. It will be a lot easier for these children to forgive if they do not have to suffer through another four years. Those four years will further endanger every life on Earth.
WILL THEIR CHILDREN FORGIVE THEM?
KERRY WON OHIO
JUST COUNT THE BALLOTS AT THE BACK OF THE BUS
In These Times
Friday, November 12, 2004
Most voters in Ohio chose Kerry. Here's how the votes vanished.
By Greg Palast
This February, Ken Blackwell, Ohio's Secretary of State, told his State Senate President, "The possibility of a close election with punch cards as the state’s primary voting device invites a Florida-like calamity." Blackwell, co-chair of Bush-Cheney reelection campaign, wasn't warning his fellow Republican of disaster, but boasting of an opportunity to bring in Ohio for Team Bush no matter what the voters wanted. And most voters in Ohio wanted JFK, not GWB. But their choice won't count because their votes won't be counted.
The ballots that add up to a majority for John Kerry in Ohio -- and in New Mexico -- are locked up in two Republican hidey-holes: "spoiled" ballots a
nd "provisional" ballots.
