The Patrick Henry Democratic Club 2008 Senator of the Year Russ Feingold (WI)

Russ Feingold had the integrity to vote against the Wall Street Sellout. Although President-elect Barack Obama and other members of the Democratic Party put pressure on Russ to give $700 billion to Wall Street Corporations that supported the political campaigns of Barack Obama and John McCain, Feingold voted ‘nay.” Instead of supporting corporate perks, he supported the people who told him to oppose the sell-out.

As the only Senator who voted against the PATRIOT Act, Feingold has regularly stood up against major pieces of legislation taking rights away from Americans. Earlier this year, he voted against the FISA Bill that took away more American rights. Barack Obama did not show up to vote on the bill. Feingold takes his job seriously.
